Shortage Monitor

The shortage workflow started as an Excel/VBA planning tool integrating multiple SAP and inter-plant sources. Its purpose was operational: identify which parts would stop production, when the shortage would occur, and whether inbound material could recover the position in time.

Planning logic

The portal carries current stock, day-by-day production requirements and inbound lots across separate horizons: short today, short tomorrow and the worst point over the coming week. This keeps immediate escalation separate from forward planning.

Why it matters

The original reporting process fell from roughly 60 minutes to 5–10 minutes. The portal version extends the same planning logic with history, shortage streaks, forward projection and clearer operational views.
